Costis Maglaras is the 16th Dean of Columbia Business School, and the David and Lyn Silfen Professor of Business at Columbia University.
Under his leadership, Columbia Business School moved into its new campus, has invested in curriculum and research in the digital future of business, entrepreneurship, the climate change challenge, and the interface of business and society.
His teaching and research lies on the interface between applied mathematics, economics and engineering, with recent work focusing on market microstructure of financial markets, information diffusion and social networks.
Costis is an electrical engineer that studied at Imperial College (1990) and Stanford University (1991 and 1998). He joined Columbia Business School in 1998. He is a Fellow of INFORMS, an Honorary Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association, a Member of the Economic Club of New York, and a Trustee of Athens College.
