David Weiner is a Portfolio Manager and Managing Director in the Straus Group at Neuberger Berman LLC (“Neuberger Berman”). Neuberger Berman is a private investment firm with approximately $220 billion of assets under management as of September 30, 2013. The firm offers a broad range of capabilities including traditional equity, fixed income and alternative strategies, in addition to portfolio advice and wealth planning services. The Straus Group manages approximately $14 billion of equity-oriented accounts for institutions, charitable organizations and high net worth individuals. The Straus Group espouses a “value” investment philosophy that focuses on companies with strong balance sheets and cash flows that repurchase their own shares. The Straus Group has a number of long standing relationships in the Middle East, Brazil, and elsewhere throughout the world. Mr. Weiner has visited the Gulf region for both business reasons and to further his appreciation of the ceramic arts.
Mr. Weiner has partnered with investor Marvin Schwartz in the Straus Group at Neuberger Berman for 18 years and before that was at First Manhattan Company and E.M. Warburg Pincus & Co. He attended the Columbia MBA program and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Queens College in New York where he studied economics, econometrics and Russian language and literature. He is a member of the Executive Committee and on the Investment Committee of the Jewish Foundation for the Education of Women, which provides education grants to women of diverse backgrounds.
