Joseph F. Pescatore has worked very closely for many years with Foundations, Endowments, Plan Sponsors and Family Offices in the area of alternative investment advisory. He is an Executive Director at UBS Warburg, LLC in New York, where he heads UBS’ Hedge Fund capital introductions group and sits on UBS Warburg’s Global Hedge Fund Committee. His responsibilities include investor education, research, alternative investment consulting and managing UBS hedge fund relationships. Until recently, Joseph headed a similar effort at Lehman Brothers. Prior to that, he was responsible for the development and marketing of an institutional hedge fund of funds as Principal and Product Engineer for absolute return strategies at State Street Global Advisors in Boston. His responsibilities at State Street included research, product development, and alternative investment advisory.
Prior to joining SSgA, Joseph was Senior Director of Institutional Marketing at the New York Mercantile Exchange, developing and implementing marketing and education programs on hedge funds, managed futures and other alternative investments. Before taking that role, he was Director of Global Business Development at the Exchange, leading the development and launch of the world's first 24-hour electronic trading system for natural gas and crude oil futures and options.
Joseph is a graduate of Montclair State University and Fordham University. He serves on the Board of the Center for International Security and Derivative Markets (CISDM) at the University of Massachusetts and is one of Family Office Exchange’s Strategic Advisors specializing in the area of alternative investments. He served as Chairman of the Managed Funds Association's Exchange Advisory Council and is co-editor of the book, The Handbook of Alternative Investment Strategies, an Investor’s Guide, published in 1999 by Institutional Investor Inc.
