Paul Raphael is a co-founding partner of Auréa, a private equity firm established in 2021. Previously, Paul served as Executive Vice Chairman of UBS. He joined UBS in 2010 initially as Head of Global Emerging Markets and subsequently as Head of Wealth Management for Europe, Middle, East, Africa and Latin America where he managed $450 billion of client assets and over 3,000 employees across 4 continents. Before joining UBS, he spent six years at Credit Suisse, including three years in Hong Kong as Head of Investment Banking for the Asia Pacific region. Previously, he was in London where he headed Equity Capital Markets and subsequently served as Co-Head of the European Financing Group across all primary and derivative markets. Prior to Credit Suisse, Paul spent 10 years with Merrill Lynch initially as Chairman of its Emerging Markets activities in Europe across all products. Later, he also served as Head of French Investment Banking and European TMT client coverage. From 1986 to 1994, he was at Salomon Brothers in New York eventually leading the Latin American Investment Banking and Capital Markets teams. Paul M. Raphael holds a degree in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MSc in Management from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. LIFE Chair (May 2010 - April 2014)
