Yasser Elguindi serves as MGA's Macro Oil Strategist, having covered oil markets for the past 15 years. Yasser originally joined the firm in 2000, when he initiated oil policy coverage with a strong emphasis on global oil market fundamentals. He returned to MGA in 2011 after leaving in 2007 join the trading firm SIG, based in Bala Cynwyd, PA. While at SIG he developed proprietary strategies and provided regular commentary in support of the group’s global trading operations in commodity and currency markets. Yasser launched his career as a journalist at the respected Middle East Economic Survey (MEES) oil journal, where he developed his extensive network of industry and policy contacts. He holds an M.A. in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina.
